Cynthia A. Phillips, Ph.D. | CEO | The Experience Factory + The Disruptive Factory | Chief Creative Officer

Cynthia A. Phillips, Ph.D. is the Founder & CEO of The Disruptive Factory. Phillips is an economist/agricultural economist as well as a business consultant to for-profit and social enterprises with over 20 years of experience in the areas of strategic planning, marketing, branding, analytics, big data, business development and global expansion. Former Director of International Marketing & Risk Management at American Express and currently consults with technology companies and start-ups such as Cisco Systems, Full Cycle Bioplastics, BioSerie, and Riverbed. She currently serves as the interim Chief Marketing and Sustainability Officer for Ascalon, LLC, a disruptive consumer and commercial bio-based products company. Phillips sits on several non-profit boards and advisory boards of start-ups including Akilah Institute, OROECO, and accelerators such as Think Beyond Plastic. Phillips served as the Founder of GlobalShiftTV, G Media Partners, and Disruptive Spirits. Phillips is serving as the CEO of Good Causes Corp and is the architect of Passport2Good, an engagement app to serve citizens and social enterprises.

Pablo Boyanovsky Bazan | Creative Director Verti and Special Projects

Pablo Boyanovsky Bazan has been the creative leader for top Ad Agencies over the last 20 years. He has created award-winning campaigns, characters, applications, and games for major brands like the Cartoon Network, Disney LATAM, Stan Lee’s POW Entertainment, Mattel, Kellogg, LG, Estee Lauder, Citröen, DC Comics, Nickelodeon and Abbot Laboratories.

Pablo’s latest efforts include the animation development of the characters for the entire Stan Lee’s BallWars Universe, Disney’s Junior Xpress and Kellogg’s Magic Box for the Latin American market.

Recently, Pablo has become the new director of the National Geological Museum in Argentina, where he created and deployed a unique way to connect people with scientific content. This new approach has received many awards for innovation and elevating the user experience to a new level. This new user-experience is now also being used in Brazil, Chile, and Mexico through various government cooperative programs.

Demetrio Cuzzocrea | Principal | HourGlass Interactive LLC | Co-Founder The Experience Factory

CEO Emergent Apps, Managing Partner 90/10 LLC. Demetrio has more than a decade of experience in the interactive and entertainment industries and possesses rare equilibrium in left and right-brained thinking. In the past, between winning awards for his filmmaking and acting, he served as Director of Interactive Client Services and Sales for a tier-1 managed hosting company while also coordinating the group’s production pipeline. Clients include AOL, Georgia Tech, the American Red Cross, National Lampoon, Disney South America, Hughes Telematics, the Argentinian Football Association (AFA), Reed Exhibitions, Buffalo Wild Wings, and National Lampoon. In the past, Demetrio has also worked with Warner Brothers, DreamWorks Music, Reuters America, and the Digital Terrorism & Hate interactive CD-ROM report released by the Simon-Wiesenthal Center, a UN-sponsored NGO, which annually garners international media attention. Demetrio is a University of Virginia graduate and received a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of San Diego on a full scholarship.

Nicholas F. Longano | Principal | Hourglass Interactive LLC | The Experience Factory

For twenty-eight years, Nicholas Longano has been an entertainment and technology entrepreneur and leading senior executive overseeing the creation of exciting new business ventures and leading innovations in beauty, beverage, media and digital entertainment.

Longano has spent the last several years working on the development of immersive Virtual Reality platforms, mobile apps, and OTT channels.

Prior to this, Longano was involved in several innovative ventures, including his most acclaimed entrepreneurial endeavor, Massive Incorporated, whereas President and CMO he built the first video game advertising network. Massive was sold to Microsoft in 2006, where he continued to work.

Longano has served in several executive roles at Vivendi Universal Games, which published such top worldwide franchises as World of Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft, Half Life, and Counter Strike. He also worked with key partners for the publishing and development of titles for Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. He led the acquisition of the Fox Interactive titles, such as The Simpsons Hit and Run Franchise. He went on to be General Manager of Universal Interactive, where Longano was responsible for all Universal film-based franchises, including, Lord of the Rings, The Hulk, Fast & Furious, The Chronicles of Riddick, Scorpion King, Jurassic Park, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, The Thing, Van Helsing, and Cat in the Hat. Prior to entering the video game industry, Longano held key marketing and general management positions in the fashion and beauty industry, including General Manager and Vice President for Unilever’s Calvin Klein Cosmetics where he launched the Calvin Klein Cosmetics line in over 20 countries and over 120 worldwide retailers. Calvin Klein brought Longano on board in 1997, following his tremendous success with turning Revlon’s color cosmetics and fragrances businesses into an international success.

He began his career in cosmetics with L’Oreal, where he launched the Studio Line product line onto the Australian market and then oversaw the Performing Preference line (I’m worth it) and Excellence Crème launch in the United States.

At Cadbury Schweppes in Australia, Longano was the Marketing Manager overseeing all Schweppes soft drinks. He licensed several top franchises for distribution, manufacturing, and marketing for the Australian market, and was responsible for launching Pepsi, Evian Spring Water and the Sunkist brand of beverages onto the market.

John Paul Basile | Principal | Frontier Sports & Entertainment | The Experience Factory

John Paul Basile is a global strategic advisor with more than 25 years of wide-ranging experience and relationships in sports, entertainment, and attractions. He founded Frontier to advise brands and rights-holders on market-entry strategy, planning, and fundraising to accelerate their growth and development in North America and

emerging markets.

Prior to Frontier, John Paul worked at the National Basketball Association (NBA), where he led international strategic programs and partnerships to accelerate development of the league and the sport of basketball across more than 30 markets. During his seven-year tenure, NBA International revenue nearly doubled while margins expanded.

John Paul also held multiple positions with Feld Entertainment, a leading producer of live, touring family entertainment. After promoting tours in the US, John Paul moved to Hong Kong – and later Australia – expanding existing markets and developing new ones across Australasia. He returned to New York to lead Feld’s most profitable and demanding region, the Northeast US & Canada.

John Paul holds a law degree from American University and graduated from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He sits on the Advisory Council for American University’s Masters in Sports Analytics.

Eddie BenAbraham | VP Content & Programming GSTV

Eddie BenAbraham is the President and founder at GollyGoose and, the inventor of “The Compassion Gauge Tool” a one-of-a-kind technology which automatically detects the state of compassion in humans. The “Compassion Guage” objective is simple: to gauge uplifting stories and see how we all feel about them. As more participants gauge a story, the more we learn how effective it is in evoking a state of compassion.

With an extensive background in online & offline marketing, business management, web development, product development and character building for companies Eddie is coming in with a broad range of professional experience.

Eddie is currently working alongside the G Media team to help make the company’s vision, a reality.

Will Jenkins | Advisor | Strategic Communications, Content & Programming GSTV

Will Jenkins has more than a decade of communications and public policy experience at the White House, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Congress, and international nonprofit organizations. During this time, Will served as a spokesperson to national and international news outlets on a wide range of issues and oversaw high profile events and policy announcements.

Will also has trained or advised hundreds of film, TV, and other media makers on social impact and public policy engagement strategies through the Sundance Institute, South by Southwest, the Tribeca Film Institute and other organizations. He was Policy Director for the Impact Film Festival at the 2012 Republican and Democratic National Conventions and developed the American Film Institute’s first Political Bootcamp for Filmmakers. He has written and produced videos on social and political issues.

Kamini Sharma | Principal, Frontier Sports & Entertainment | The Experience Factory

Kamini Sharma is a senior sport and media executive with global expertise in building brands, platforms, programs, and partnerships. She recently joined Frontier from UFC, where she was VP, Global Marketing and led brand marketing, television/pay-per-view, and social media across 5 international offices.

Kamini previously served as Director of Marketing for ESPN (EMEA) based in London. In that role, she was responsible for the growth of ESPN’s television brands, directing over 50 channel launches in more than 30 countries to grow ESPN’s reach from 250K to 25M households. Kamini also managed international rights-holder relationships with the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAA, NASCAR, European football, and tennis during her tenure.

Prior to ESPN, Kamini worked for the National Hockey League (NHL) as Director of International Marketing. She oversaw all international marketing activity and led strategic planning and execution for key international initiatives, such as the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

Jim Veevaert | Principal | Hourglass Interactive LLC | The Experience Factory

Jim is a 20-year veteran of the interactive entertainment industry, joined IGT (International Game Technology) as its VP of Games and Product Development in January 2014. Responsible for driving a cross-platform vision for all games, features and creative development across DoubleDown Casino, Veevaert drove revenue growth from $185M to over $300M in 2015.

Prior to IGT, he established the Zynga Seattle Game Studio as its GM in 2011 developing several profitable casual game franchises for the company including Slingo, Ruby Blast & Puzzle Charms; in 2009, he co-founded Jerry Bruckheimer Games in Santa Monica, CA, where he spent 2 years as the President of Production working closely Bruckheimer’s creative teams to develop several original projects.

During his 8-year tenure at Microsoft as an executive producer and studio manager, Veevaert oversaw Xbox 360's biggest franchises and was the executive producer overseeing the UK based Rare studio, managing production across multiple teams. With Rare, he brought several hit franchises to the Xbox 360 platform including Kameo, Perfect Dark, and Viva Piñata, which was also developed into a TV series.

His biggest accomplishments came as Microsoft’s executive producer for Xbox’s mega-franchise Halo 3 and brought the Epic relationship along with the Gears of War franchise to Xbox driving over $1B in revenue for Microsoft.

He also served as VP at Vivendi, overseeing the Half-Life franchise including Counter-Strike, and Team Fortress, as well as the King’s Quest series. He started his career in production as the driving force behind Interplay’s pursuit of the casual market with the Brainstorm brand in the mid 90’s.

Andrew H. Orgel | Chairman and CEO, QOL Media Inc | The Experience Factory

Andy Orgel is a highly regarded media and entertainment executive and thought leader, known for his deep start-up experience, the creation of disruptive, global content brands, building best-in-class teams and scaling businesses through on- and offline marketing and distribution channels. Andy was a founder and start-up executive at 7 businesses that changed the media and marketing landscape: at the inception of MTV, A&E, Nickelodeon, The Movie Channel, US West Interactive Video Enterprises, CBS FM National Advertising Sales and the first interactive TV network, “The Box,” a NASDAQ company (bought by MTV Networks). He was labeled by Success Magazine as an “MTV Mastermind” and the man who “made TV interactive,” and is well known for innovation and creativity with building well-known, high profile content. He is currently Chairman & CEO of QOL Media, Inc., an emerging, global media company in the “integrated quality of life” sector, in the categories of personal and global sustainability. He is a Co-Founder of G Media Partners, where, among other businesses, he co-created “GlobalShift TV,” a digital channel already on Roku, XBOX360, LG and Samsung and the developing “GlobalFestTV.” And, he is Senior Advisor to Creative Expansion, a consulting company that helps businesses to be more socially responsible, balancing profits with purpose.

Sandra Niehaus | Co-Founder, Customer and User Experience Magician | The Experience Factory

With over 20 years as a user experience design leader, developer, and marketing expert, with strategic insight and tactical expertise. Sandra has led and executed projects for a wide range of companies and industries. Prior clients include Facebook, PayPal, Walmart, Netflix, Crate & Barrel, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, StubHub, Brocade, Quicken Loans, and Allstate, and many others.

She is a founding member of IxDA Sacramento, author of the book “Web Design for ROI” from New Riders Press, and a writer and international speaker on the topics of user experience, design, and conversion rate optimization.

Sandra’s mission: To transform lives for the better and improve human interactions with all types of technology. The opportunities to do so are deep and fascinating, which is why I’ve spent 20+ years in the tech industry, focusing on human-technology interactions for the past 11 years.

Giving back is part of her life, with a particular focus on social issues such as women’s self-defense and economic empowerment. Currently, she volunteers on the advisory boards of the Encyclopedia of Life and UC Davis Extension.

In her spare time, she hangs out in Northern California, where she practices improv comedy and mixed martial arts (usually not at the same time), writes, and try to learn more about this crazy universe we call home.

Kia Kiso, Producer | Principal, Zaza Productions | The Experience Factory

Kia Kiso has a passion for producing compelling stories which entertain, inspire and ultimately transform people’s lives. Her unique trajectory and combination of skills have built a solid foundation for her producing career. Projects she has produced range from award-winning music videos and social issue documentaries to TV pilots and network promos for hit CBS series.

She earned a B.A. in Moving Image Arts/Minor in Business from the College of Santa Fe. She was a union Camera Assistant, Telecine Colorist, and VFX Coordinator/Liaison to Director. She has over 80 credits in TV, features, documentaries, commercials and music videos.

 J.P. Brennan, Director of Visual Narratives for Film & Digital Media | The Experience Factory

With the combined background of the visual arts (painter & sculptor), the performing arts (theatre actor & mime), and lighting (stage light designer and film/TV/commercial gaffer), J.P. Brennan is one of the more well-rounded and informed directors working today.  It is with this arsenal of tools, craft, and experience that he approaches every project he directs.  Focusing on investigating the human condition, he utilizes the performance of the characters to breathe life into his stories.

J.P. is attracted to and creates projects, that lend themselves to being visually immersive and which make strong, insightful statements.  His projects have ranged from promos and commercials to narrative short films.  Currently, his latest comedy short film “Flowers” is on the festival circuit and he is packaging his low-budget, indie, thriller feature ALL NIGHT FOREVER.

Steven Weiler | Senior Business Development Manager | The Experience Factory

Steven Weiler is a proven, results-oriented senior executive with more than eighteen years of progressive technology and healthcare organization leadership, including digital and population health executive roles with technology companies and as a Vice President with Kaiser Permanente, one of the largest healthcare organizations in the country. He has successfully managed both entrepreneurial and established organizations generating impressive returns in growth markets, turn-around companies, and mature organizations. Throughout his career, Steven has achieved results with creativity and a clear sense of direction.

In his role with Kaiser Permanente Steven led a business unit responsible for transforming core operations functions in California, with over 7M members and $50B in operating revenue. He was instrumental in repositioning the company’s claims and encounter processing strategy, launching the member experience initiative, and managing the Program’s $250M investment portfolio and more than two hundred dedicated staff and engaging health plan, hospital, and medical group executive leadership and operations.

Steven founded and operates a professional services firm through which he has served as an interim executive with several innovative digital transformations and population health management private equity-backed companies. Specific roles have included Vice President of Operations, Chief Experience Officer, and Vice President of Business Development wherein Steven was directly responsible for company operations, offer development, customer service and delivery, information technology systems, and strategic decisions as well as serving as a member of the executive leadership team.

Prior to joining PacifiCare, Leeba was a founder of Monarch Health Systems, and its affiliate, Freedom Plan, Inc. As the organization’s first President and CEO, she was instrumental in obtaining initial capital, obtaining state licensure and initiating the operations of the plan.

Debbie Brubaker | Producer / Director Consultant | The Experience Factory

Debbie Brubaker is a producer, line producer, and production unit manager who has over 30 years’ experience in all facets of motion picture and video production. She is a member of the Directors Guild of America. Debbie Brubaker is best known for The Diary of a Teenage Girl (2015), Blue Jasmine (2013), Big Eyes (2014) and the TV Series, Alcatraz.

Debbie is a seasoned producer in the world of “indie” feature films and godmother’ of the San Francisco independent world. Dopamine (Producer) was a big hit at the Sundance Film Festival 2003. She has also produced /
line produced many other feature narratives such as Swing directed by Martin Guigui, Teknolust , directed by Lynn Hershman Leesom, Bartleby, by Jonathan; Cherish, directed by Finn Taylor and Jonathan Parker’s The Californians.
